In English, we will be looking at how to write a debate for our non-fiction work, by the end of this writing unit the children will have a structured debate about the importance of climate change. For our fiction unit we will be writing adventure stories. For our poetry piece we will be drawing inspiration from the jabberwocky. Our class book this term is “The Explorer” which links to our adventure story writing, we will also be looking a range of different texts in guided reading to support our writing and comprehension.
In maths we will be carrying on with decimals before we move on to geometry later in the term.
In science we will learning all about the human body and how it changes over time.
In RE we will be exploring the questions “what does it mean to belong to a religion?” Our focus will be on Judaism.
In geography this term we will be learning all about the formation of mountains and rivers, as well as looking at and reflecting on things that impact them.
In PSHE we will be exploring different relationships that we have and how to manage relationships.
In music the learning in this unit is focused around one song: Dancing In The Street by Martha And The Vandellas - a Motown song from the 1960s
In French we will be using all that we have learnt so far as well as new vocabulary and grammar surrounding friends and family to work towards the goal of having full conversations in French.
In art we will be exploring the works of the artist Monet, and using his work to inspire us to create our own water colour landscape paintings.
In PE we will be doing dance on a Monday and on a Thursday they will be doing athletics with Mrs Edgell
In ICT we will be using purple mash to explore 3D modelling.
