Parents Teacher Association

St Mary’s School PTA brings together parents, carers and staff to raise funds and support the school. It also involves members of our local community and friends of the school.

We are very fortunate to have a PTA that has been an integral part of the school community for many years. In its time, the PTA has raised many thousands of pounds. This money has been spent on equipment and resources to enhance the school’s facilities and our children’s education experience.

Our PTA is about much more than just fundraising though. It exists to provide closer links between home and school, and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal.

The PTA is extremely conscious of the ethos and diversity of our school, and we try very hard when organising and planning events to respect this. Not all of our events and activities are run as fundraisers but simply to create experiences for our children (like a festive trip to the panto!) or being involved in projects in school, for example willow weaving or helping in the allotments. We want everyone to feel included, whatever their circumstances.

Joining the PTA

All families are automatically members of St Mary’s School PTA when their child joins. We encourage all parents and members of the school community to get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available.

Please come along to PTA meetings, which are advertised via the newsletter or Class Dojo's, or let the school office know you are keen to be involved and they will pass your details onto the committee members.

PTA Mission Statement

To enrich the experience of pupils and support the school in achieving the best possible outcomes for them. We do this by:

  •          Recognising and valuing the part that the school plays in the local community
  •          Engaging in activities that support the school and advance the education of the pupils
  •          Assisting in the provision of facilities for education
