Term 3 - Class 2

This term's topic is a change from the planned Term 3 one, due to school closures, We have swapped with our Term 4 topic, due to the nature of the activities planned, for our learning of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We will look forward to learning about chocolate next term.
Intrepid Explorers
In this term's topic the children will meet Christopher Columbus and Neil Armstrong, investigating why they are remembered today, what they achieved and how they are similar to or different from each other. Once they have all the information they need, they can then use what they have learnt to decide who the greater explorer was. Will they be Team Columbus or Team Armstrong?
We can't wait to find out!
Remote Learning
Following the government's decision to temporarily close all schools, during a third national lockdown, all children in Class 2 have been provided with access to Class Dojo, along with a Home Learning Pack so that they can continue their learning, remotely.
Please encourage your child to complete all activities assigned to them as this will help to consolidate children's current learning and introduce the new learning that they are expected to achieve by the end of Year 2.
We also ask that you continue to listen to your child read every day, as usual. There is a wide range of online texts, should you need more reading material for your child. Please find all links on the 'Useful Websites' section.
Once again, this is a very unsettling time for us all and I know that you will undoubtedly want the very best for your child, just as I do. I will endeavour to support you and your child remotely, as I would do in class. By working together, we can do the very best we can to ensure that our lovely Year 2s continue to reach their potential.
Kind regards
Mrs Adamson
