Our topic this term is “Hall of Fame”

In English, we will be studying William Shakespeare who will join our Hall of fame, we will be writing play scripts in school. Our class book this term is “Skysong” by Abi Elphinstone. We will be using this book to help us develop our comprehension skills.


In maths we will be studying position and direction of shape in geometry and finishing off the year with converting measurements.


In science we will be finishing off our humans and animals unit by studying puberty and the changes to our body during this time alongside PSHE. Once we have learnt this we will be doing some recap experiments as well as learning about some key scientists in these fields to add to our “hall of fame”.


In RE we will be exploring the question “what kind of king is Jesus?”  


In History this term we will be comparing two key figures Winston Churchill and Martin Luther king and comparing how much they have influenced the world today. They will become part of our historical hall of fame.


In PSHE we will studying RSE (relationship and sex education) the children will be learning about the changes that happen to their body during puberty and conception.


In music the learning in this unit is focused around one song: The Fresh Prince of Bell air, we will be studying old school hip hop (this should have been taught during lockdown so we are going back to teach the key skills learnt through this unit so they are prepared to move on.


In French we will be learning about school life, they will gain lots of new vocabulary related to their school day and items they may use within class.


In DT we will be making Cam toys, the children will be using drills and saws to create an effective moving toy.  


In PE we will be going swimming on a Wednesday morning and Volleyball on a Thursday afternoon.


In ICT we will be using purple mash to explore concept maps; the children will be working towards creating a concept map collaboratively to present ideas to the class.
