As ever, if you have any worries or questions relating to your child and need a little more time, please do not hesitate to arrange a time to talk. It is important for us all that your children are happy at school, so please keep us informed of any concerns, no matter how small. You can contact me via email:lgolden@stmaryswrithlington.co.uk
May we take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.
Homework
This term, I will be sending out a piece of maths and English (reading, writing or punctuation and grammar) each week on a Friday, due in the following Friday. Spellings will be given on a Monday for a test on the Friday of that week.
KIRFs
To help develop children’s fluency in mathematics, we ask them to learn Key Instant Recall Facts each half term. We expect children to practise their KIRFs at least 3 times a week.
We have created these lists of KIRFs to align with the new curriculum. They are intended to be challenging but will be supported in class to learn them and use them to apply to their mathematics learning.
Reading
Please continue to hear your child read and sign their reading record. :)
Useful Information
PE
Due to the current circumstances, children are to wear their PE kit in to school on these days to save changing. The PE kit should include a white t-shirt, black shorts and daps for outdoor activities. The children may also wear a tracksuit for outdoor PE in the colder months but no hoodies please.
