Welcome to St Mary's C of E Primary School and Nursery

We are here to help you, even before your child starts at St Mary's.  Whether your child might be joining Little Oaks in September 2024 or are moving mid way through the school year, please do contact us if you have any queries or can't find the information you need here.

As an academy, we take in-year applications directly, while Reception places are handled by the Bath and NE Somerset local authority.  For the Reception intake, we still follow the BANES admissions criteria, and you can find these on pages 46-7 of the Primary Admissions Booklet.  The two distinct processes, of joining in Reception and of joining later on, are outlined below.

Little Acorns Nursery

We welcome each child as an individual and help them meet their potential.  Please look at the Little Acorns tab on this school website for more information about our youngest class.

We welcome visits to our Nursery Class, please call 01761 34548 to book a tour with the Headteacher or Deputy and Early Years Leader.

If you wish to secure a place in our Nursery class - Little Acorns please contact the office for an enrolment form

Reception Intake September 2024

If your child was born between 1st September 2019and 31st August 2020 he or she is able to start school in September 2024.  Our shared school value of 'Happiness' is our first priority for all the children and fundamentally we want to ensure that children's happiness and welfare are at the forefront of our thoughts and actions as they join our school.

We  are able to accommodate private visits to our welcoming school. Please do pay us a visit.  You can contact us to arrange a time that suits you.

Applications to start school in Reception must be made to the Local Authority in which you live even if you are wanting to be considered for a place at a school situated within a different Local Authority area.  You can find further information on the Bath and North East Somerset Schools Admissions  page.

We also recommend looking at the 'Parents' and 'Children' tabs above for more information on the practicalities of starting school at St Mary's.

Transitioning to St Mary's from another school (In Year Admissions)

If your child has already started school, but you would like them to transfer to St Mary's, you need to apply directly to the school. Details of our in-year admissions procedures and an application form can be found via The Partnership Trust website: https://thepartnershiptrust.co.uk/admissions/

For any more information, please get in touch, via the school office on 01761 434548 or email us on office@stmaryswrithlington.co.uk to arrange a visit.
