CURRICULUM 2023

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework was revised in December 2023. This document can be found at the following link.. EYFS Statutory Framework 2023

We are very proud to share our new curriculum which we launched in September 2021. Our curriculum is based around a different Theme each term. We chose the Themes purposefully, to best reflect the needs and interests of our children. Our choices were based on factors such as: the seasons, the stages of learning the children experience in Reception and because we feel these themes can and do provide a great umbrella for exciting, meaningful, learning, that builds throughout the year.

Our curriculum has been intricately planned, based on the skills and knowledge we intend our children to develop during their time in the reception year and beyond. Our curriculum enables children space and time to develop interests, fascinations and wonder, which drives our planning to take children to their next step in learning and ensures they can reach their potential.

The EYFS Statutory Framework states the following...

'All children deserve the care and support they need to have the best start in life. Children learn and develop at a faster rate from birth to five years old than at any other time in their lives, so their experiences in early years have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe, and happy childhood is important in its own right. Good parenting and high-quality early learning provide the foundation children need to fulfil their potential.'

The EYFS curriculum is divided into 7 Educational Programmes:

Communication and Language

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Physical Development

Literacy

Mathematics

Understanding the World

Expressive Arts and Design

We provide exciting and inspiring activities and experiences for children under each of these areas of learning. These are found on our Curriculum Map, which we are also proud to share with you.
