Welcome to Class 1
In Year 1, we are pleased to be able to provide a large classroom setting both inside and out. This effectively mirrors the way of working and playing which the children have been used to in their Reception class though hopefully as we go through the year, preparing them for the structure of Year 2. The children learn through a mix of engaging 'hands-on' activities - RAINBOW challenges and teacher directed group and individual work. In working this way we can more accurately tailor the experiences directly to meet the needs of each unique child.
Mrs Roberts is in class Monday to Thursday and Miss Hamblin will teach every Friday. We are lucky to have Mrs Lock looking after all of us all week long!
We try to provide an open, welcoming environment where we hope that parents and carers feel able to come and have a chat or ask any questions that may arise. In Class 1, we want to get to know our parents and carers in order that we can all work together for the children to achieve their full potential as learners and well-rounded, self confident individuals.
We had fun making bread rolls in our own Pudding Lane bakery. Luckily we didn't start a fire but we did enjoy eating our rolls with butter and jam.
When we are not working in a group with an adult, we enjoy our RAINBOW challenges.
