Term Four is going to be an exciting one with all things STONE AGE! We cannot wait to show you everything that we have learnt and produced in our English, History and Art lessons.
This term in English we will be writing diary entries, focused on the book 'Stone Age Boy' by Satoshi Kitamura. This will export us back to the Stone Age where we will go on our own adventures! Following this, we will focus on instructional writing - watch out for some Stone Age recipes! We have also had a week of poetry, the poems we created were amazing and we can't wait to show you!
In Maths we will focus on Statistics - we have already created our own bar charts and pictograms! After this, we will be looking at length and perimeter before moving on to fractions. Any work children can do at home to help with this would be great.
In Science we are learning all things rocks. We have already made our own fossils and are very knowledgeable about the different types of rocks - just ask us!

In Year 3, children are expected to read 5 times a week. In order to keep track of this, reading records will be looked at every day in school. Please ensure that these are signed and brought into school daily. Alongside reading books chosen at school, please encourage the children to read a variety of texts and books written by different authors.

We have has some absolutely fantastic pieces of homework during the past three terms, keep up the excellent work! As before, children will continue to have homework every week which can be found in their homework books. This is due in on a Friday.  Please ensure that your child completes their homework in order to consolidate and support their learning. Please also encourage the children to take care of these books, they contain fantastic pieces of work and it is important that the children are responsible for taking pride in how these books are kept.

Children will also have spellings and times tables to learn which they will be tested on. Spellings and times tables will also be tested on a Friday.
